A true child of the 20th century, I grew up with
television, movies, radio, books, and comic books. I guess the
only thing that would make me unique in this respect is my particular
combination of favorites and interests. Admittedly, while I've always enjoyed television and movies (I watched Star Trek, Perry Mason, and tons of sitcoms), they weren't what I particularly focused on. I always read early on in my childhood, including such classics as Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and Tom Swift, but in my adolescence, I really got into comics and science fiction and fantasy. Batman, Captain America, and a plethora of other superheroes and characters became very important to me. Star Trek suddenly held a deeper significance, and I discovered such shows as Doctor Who, The Prisoner, and Monty Python's Flying Circus. I read and greatly enjoyed Isaac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy (at least it was still a trilogy at the time) when I was thirteen. I discovered the wonders of Middle-Earth, and the pleasures of the Hyborian Age (i.e. Conan). And always, there were more comics to buy up and read. |

| Music, too, became important to me, although its
significance and my understanding of music has taken much longer to
achieve. These are my fan pages, dedicated to the characters, stories, sounds, and their creators, the things that I've known and loved in my lifetime. |
