Who knows what will appear on this page?  This is my experimental page to try out new ideas and different formats, so this page will probably look different than the rest of the site.
This time, I've decided that I've had enough of trying to use the tables to organize my pages.  There were too many inconsistencies in browsers other than Netscape 4.  I may not make something suitable for "any browser", but I've decided on a simpler approach that should cause less problems and be more consistent across browsers and platforms.  Basically, I've decided to stick to a simpler, horizontal structure that's more forgiving if the user is in a different-sized browser window.  My main concern is to make sure that the navigation is still fairly easy to follow.

Who Knows what will appear on this page?  I'll use this page to experiment with different ideas for web page design, to see what works and what doesn't work, before applying any ideas that I like to my other pages on the site.

In this case, I'm trying to find some way  to conveniently organize my page links on the left side of the table without having to struggle so hard to make it work in both IE and Netscape (and Opera, too, now that I've downloaded it).
I didn't really want to use frames, so I thought I would try using a table instead.  At first my idea was to just make a table for the navigation links, and then enter text and stuff to the right of the table.  Alas, Netscape Composer wouldn't let me do that, so I opted to add a second column in the table and enter text in that second column.
This scheme actually gives me some interesting color/background image options, so I'll have to just see how well it actually works in the different browsers and screen resolutions.

No spaces between the link images works fine in Netscape, but not in IE.  Adding a space in between works better in IE, but adds vertical space, too.
